Spartanburg, S.C. – Using a staggering offensive performance, Wofford stymied Western Carolina in Southern Conference action, earning a straight-sets victory on Saturday night at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The Terriers downed the Catamounts by scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-11.

Courtney Graham both collected five kills apiece to lead the way for the Catamounts, with the freshman duo of
Tatum Sharp and
Samantha Kranzler both finishing with four kills. Junior
Katie Boney secured her sixth double-double and second in as many nights, dishing out 22 assists and collecting 10 digs, while also recording a career-high tying three kills.
Bradley Brown led all players with 16 kills on 19 swings for the Terriers, boasting an .842 hitting percentage in the win. Brown added a match-high six blocks. Chloe Smith finished with nine kills and a .474 attack percentage, while also totaling a team-best 17 digs. Taylor Pecht finished with 20 assists, followed by Maddy Frazier with 16 helpers. Laney Klika added 11 digs on the defensive end for the hosts.
The early stages of the first set featured a back-and-forth battle with neither squad able to gain more than a two-point advantage. A 4-1 burst just after the midpoint gave the hosts a 19-15 lead and forced a WCU timeout. The Terriers kept the foot on the gas down the stretch with a 6-2 run to claim the opening set 25-17.
Wofford continued to put the throttle down on the offensive end of the court, opening with a 9-2 run out of the gates in the second set to seize early control. The Terriers added an 11-4 run en route to a 25-10 set two victory, advancing the lead to 2-0 in the match.
The home squad continued its momentum into the third set with a 9-3 burst off the top to take early control. The Catamounts whittled the deficit to four, 11-7, but Wofford then scored seven of the next eight points to extend the advantage to 10, 18-8, forcing a Catamount timeout. Wofford put together a 7-2 run down the stretch to secure the 25-11 win and a straight-set victory on Saturday.
Western Carolina (5-8, 1-1 SoCon) begins its 2025 Southern Conference home schedule with a visit from mountain-rival ETSU on Friday, Oct. 3, before welcoming in-state foe UNCG the following evening. Friday's match with the Bucs is slated for a 6 p.m. start, followed by a 5 p.m. first serve against UNCG on Saturday.
Friday's meeting with mountain-rival ETSU is part of the "Beat the Bucs" Blackout, with fans encouraged to wear their black WCU gear to the game. Saturday's action with the Spartans will be Kids at the Court & Neon Night. Both matches with the Bucs and the Spartans are scheduled for
