Western Carolina women's soccer took and impressive 3-1 lead after the first half, however, could not score again.
Morehead State scored two goals in the second half to tie the score at three. Western had the opportunity to win the game when a goal at 63:30 was called back on an
offsides call. Neither team would score again despite playing double overtime.
Sophomore Kelly Barker scored her third goal of the season at 7:34 to give the Catamounts a 1-0 lead. Morehead State retaliated with a goal at 20:29 by Stephanie
Sandfoss with a shot over WCU keeper Mandi Tinsley. WCU's Jordan Howell answered 14 minutes later with a cross from the right side to inch past the leaping MSU
keeper. Sophomore Nardia Moore gave WCU the lead for the second time with a goal at 44:06.
Western outshot Morehead State 29-15 in the tie while Tinsley recorded seven saves in the double overtime. It was the first time in WCU's history to play in double
overtime.
