Mount Olive, N.C. – Junior Devaniel Dale and senior Christina Nikolaou both recorded wins on Sunday as WCU sent a contingent of student-athletes to the Mount Olive Final Qualifier held at McDonald Sport Complex.

Dale won the men's 400-meter dash with a time of 46.90. He bested a field of 17 competitors and won by nearly .70 seconds.

Nikolaou won the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase in a personal record time of 11:14.91.

Senior Dakota Wright finished fifth in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 54.57 meters (170').

Qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA East Preliminary meet will be announced later this week. The meet is scheduled for May 23-25 at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla.
