Women’s Golf Concludes the Fall at ‘The Robbie’ in Alabama

Three-round, 54-hole tournament runs Friday through Sunday

Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina women's golf concludes the fall portion of its 2024-25 season this weekend, traveling to Owens Cross Roads, Ala., just southeast of Huntsville for "The Robbie," the first-ever event hosted by Lipscomb at the Hampton Cove Golf Course, one of 11 courses on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be held on the par-72, 7,428-yard Highlands course that was built in 1992.

In addition to the Catamounts and the host Bisons, teams from Bellarmine, No. 58 Louisville, Morehead State, and Murray State comprise the six-team inaugural field at The Robbie. Additionally, golfers from two Top-100 teams will vie for individual medalist honors including three players from No. 11 Vanderbilt and members of the 58th-ranked Louisville Cardinals. A combined nine individuals will see the field representing six different schools.

With WCU's golfers paired with host Lipscomb and Louisville, tee times are set to begin at 9:30 a.m. ET / 8:30 a.m. CT on Friday and Saturday with Sunday's final round to commence with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. CT. Daily results can be found online at CatamountSports.com as well as through the Scoreboard app, powered by Clippd.

Western Carolina's scoring five is led by senior Elizabeth Lohabuer as Player No. 1 followed by a trio of freshmen. Rookies Madison Lehr, Ella Kozak, and Annalee Caveney each put the wraps on their first semester of collegiate golf this weekend. Junior Sadler Miller is WCU's No. 5 seed among the team's scoring five, while senior Kaitlyn Wingnean will compete for the individual medalist honors unattached.

This weekend's tournament is named after Robbie Brewer-Davis, a long-time Bisons fan who graduated from Lipscomb in 1974. Robbie, a 2019 inductee into Lipscomb's Hall of Fame, is a beloved supporter of all Lipscomb athletics and has a fondness for the women's golf team. Her brother, Barry Brewer, was also a former Lipscomb golfer who graduated in 1970.

Alabama's Robert Trent Jones (RTJ) Golf Trail is a collection of championship-caliber golf courses at 11 sites across the state of Alabama.

Following this weekend's tournament, the Catamounts break until the spring semester which opens at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, hosted by Southern Conference foe Mercer Feb. 21-23, 2025, to open a five-tournament spring that culminates with the 2025 SoCon Women's Golf Championship April 13-15.
