Bobby Setzer - Football, Coach, and Administrator - (1951-92)
Bobby Setzer was a part of Western Carolina's athletic program for 36 years as a student-athlete, coach, and athletics administrator. He was a two-time All-North State Conference Lineman in the mid-1950's. He served as an assistant football coach for 28 years while teaching a full schedule of classes from 1957-1988 with the exception of three seasons, and coached four Catamounts that went on to the professional ranks and all six All-America Selections. He also coached the WCU wrestling team for six seasons after a 20-year lapse and led the program to a 44-31-1 record from 1969 thru 1974. He served as athletics director for three and a half years (1989-92).
