Kevin Martin – Men’s Basketball (2001-04)
A three-time All-Southern Conference selection earning a pair of first-team honors as well as All-District honors from the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) in 2004. Led the Catamounts in scoring each of his three seasons, averaging over 20 points per game, twice finishing ranked inside the top 10 nationally while scoring 1,838 career points. Officially WCU’s first-ever, first-round draft pick in the major professional sports leagues, selected by the Sacramento Kings with the 26th overall pick. Enjoyed a 12-year career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) where he played for the Kings (2004-2010), the Houston Rockets (2010-2012), Oklahoma City Thunder (2012-13), Minnesota Timberwolves (2013-16), and the San Antonio Spurs (2016). Martin was selected to the Southern Conference 100th Anniversary Team in 2021.
