Steve Spradling - Football - (1967-70)
An all-star wide receiver on the 1969 team that finished 9-1 and ranked 8th in the final national poll, both unparalleled in the first four decades of Western Carolina football history. All-NAIA District 6, leading receiver in district, the nation's fourth-ranked wide receiver, NAIA All-America and Associated Press honorable mention All-America in 1969. North Carolina Collegiate All-State Team in 1969 and 1970. WCU posted 19-8 record with him as starting wide receiver between 1968-70. First WCU receiver to gain 1,000 yards in a season. Finished his career with nine, 100-yard receiving games and at the time of his induction, owned WCU's record for most consecutive 100-yard receiving games (four-straight) while also ranking in WCU's top 10 in nine career and season statistics.
